Treasury Only Strategy
A sophisticated approach to “Plain Vanilla” instruments.
Treasury securities are some of the most common securities on the street today, and for good reason. They are issued by the U.S. Government, one of the most creditworthy issuers in the country, making them a great option for investors who seek safety over all.
There are a variety of maturity length options available from the Treasury, including bills (4-52 weeks), notes (1-10 years), and bonds (10+ years), Treasury STRIPS, Floating Rate Notes (FRN’s) and others which provide a variety of options for sophisticated investors.
At IBN Asset Management, we utilize the strengths of each variety of treasury security to create a sophisticated portfolio that is not only safe, but maintains sufficient liquidity and earns an attractive yield.
Safety First
Treasury Securities are backed by the ‘full faith and credit of the United States Government’, which is one of the most creditworthy entities on earth.
Highly Liquid
Not only are there a large amount of treasuries issued on the market today, but they are highly liquid on the secondary market as well, providing an additional avenue for liquidation if needed.
Universally Permitted
Treasury securities are often the foundation of permitted investment options, and for good reason. They offer more than adequate safety, a wide variety of maturity options, and rates that often shape the market as a whole.
Passive vs. Active Management
IBNAM offers this strategy in only an active management style.
Passive strategies are initially setup and portfolio makeup will remain relatively unchanged unless directed by the client for the duration of the contract. This management style is typically better suited for accounts that require less oversight and see less activity. Active management is just that, account managers will actively monitor the account for potential improvements and will act on those opportunities to increase portfolio return, provide additional degrees of safety, and mitigate potential risks. Fees are typically higher than passive strategies, but come with a great deal of benefits. Due to the nature of this strategy, only an active management style is offered.
